Was invited by Dr. Nathan Munn, M.D., a professor in psychology and consciousness @ the University of Montana @ Helena, MT, and an expert in mental health care, to present a Skype discussion with his class in Introduction to Consciousness Studies. Dr. Munn had been giving a lecture on subjective reporting (e.g. neurophenomenology) and mystical states and "happened to mention in passing you and your happiness beyond thought program. My students were totally incredulous about this, that one can go “beyond thought”. The students have a lot of questions for you, to say the least."
Nathan asked if i would give a Skype lecture/class/discussion with the students. i met Nathan through Prof. Bernard Baars' "advanced consciousness webinar" through the Center for Consciousness Studies @ the U. of AZ, and the Neuroscience Institute in San Diego. Nathan is a psychiatrist by training and is one of the best @ neurochemistry and consciousness from a scientific perspective. we both presented @ the 2010 Science and NonDuality Conference in San Francisco and spent some time together.
The discussion went really well. i had sent ahead my presentation that i had given @ Haverford College about a month ago and most of which i will be giving @ the Towards a Science of Consciousness Conference in Stockholm in two weeks so that the students had some background. The students were well prepared, had lots of deep and insightful questions, ranging from "No Way!, "did people see a difference in your behavior", and "do you dream?", etc., preprepared and as they arose. They still had questions when the class ended after 75 minutes.
Another "brick in the wall", or not, not that it makes any difference, or that i had any choice in any part of it. It did seem to dance...
This is actually a test comment, but for context, is a copy of Dr. Munn's SAND II talk available anywhere?
