Baumann Institute Interview

i was recently interviewed by the Baumann Institute (http://baumanninstitute.org/) which is located in San Francisco. Their mission; “The Baumann Institute is dedicated to exploring the nature of awareness and its relationship to human health and well-being.”

To that end, they are currently interviewing "awakened" folk (whatever those are) to determine if there is some learning to be gained from such folk that can be applied more broadly. The questions focused on "your experience of life, particularly as it relates to the discovery of awareness as the fundamental basis of all perception and experience."

Questions ranged from "what awareness is", "when and where it happened", "relief of suffering", "fleeing or abiding of awareness", to "how is it brought about/practices", "day-to-day life", "how can you recognize it in students?"

There will be some gathering and processing of interviews and research grants awarded on that basis to folk working in the field. Some examples are on their website.

  3. Tom:

Don't know if they're going to make that interview available or not. Am completing a follow-up series of written responses to same questions. Will be meeting with the Baumann Institute folk in San Rafael this week to see what is available.

Am also being interviewed by the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) this week including having EEGs run.

As both of these are for their research purposes, there are some controls over "research subjects" responses, so don't know what will be available.

  4. I had a chance to spend a couple of hours with Gary at SAND. Of course, the universe directed it all, from first random meeting to a couple of others, all suffused with immense general good cheer, resonance, depth and fun. Gary and I have similar backgrounds although our paths to freedom have been somewhat different, mine starting with 35 years of TM. It is always a pleasure to meet another teacher who has a sense of humor! Dean Radin ("Entangled Minds," "The Conscious Universe") is a modest, scholaraly, earnest pleasant advocate for and leading investigator of expanded consciousness. His comments to a fundamentalist Christian on the Oprah show were stunning. The beat goes on...
