Q:
Hi Gary,
For the purpose of long, undisturbed meditation is it advisable to use a pyramid?
It is said that pyramids ward-off negative frequencies and are able to open-up to us higher spiritual energy, creating thereby the conditions that are conducive for long sits (experiences of weightlessness etc).
Kindly suggest.
With kind regards,
Gary:
Namaste.
An easy answer would be a quote from Bhagavan about where you go physically is not the problem, wherever you go, the "I" remains the problem.
i have only tried triangles for a short time; they did "seem" to make a difference, but those are not "controlled" experiments so it may just have been imagination.
However, there have been so many experiences w/o a triangular roof, including "my" final "turning the page", which took place in a flat-roofed building, that my experiences would not validate the necessity for triangled spaces. Indeed, Virupaksha Cave, and Skandashram, in which i and many others have had some huge experiences and are filled with energy, could hardly be called triangles. i don't believe the Old Hall @ Ramanasramam has a highly peaked roof and it is a "magical" place, full of energy.
It is interesting that many/most religions and spiritual practice centers around the world use triangles in their architecture. Most of the European/American religions have a triangular or pointed roof/top, as do many Muslim sects. Certainly the many gopurams in India would lend some credibility to your thesis, even if they are just the approaches to temples. The Zen centers in which i spent so much time meditating in some very long "sits" all had triangular tops.
i really don't put any emphasis on architecture. As Bhagavan says, the location is of little significance. No matter where you go, there you/your I is, the real basis of the challenge.
stillness and surrender

Namaste & many thanks Gary. Your explanation is as if it is from Bhagavan himself in his days when in body. The world is very fortunate to have you, rising beyond all noise and pulling us only to the highest, the purest, the subtlest. You are so right, none of the places in Ramanashram has any peaked top and yet they brim in energy.
Thanks again.
Rgds,
