SAND II IONS presentation on Science of NonDuality

At the recent Second Science and NonDuality Conference (SAND) in San Rafael, CA in October, 2010, Cassie Vieten, the Director of Research for the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), gave a talk summarizing the results of some of the EEG research work conducted at the 2009 First SAND Conference in which i participated and which was reported earlier on this blog.

Her presentation is @ Vieten Science of NonDuality SAND II.

You will see after the first introductory slides, there is much discussion on a written survey study largely conducted by the folk @ the Baumann Institute, including its director, Jon Astin, in cooperation with IONS. i also participated in parts of this study.

An overview of the results of the EEG study are given in some Vieten's slides.

The major results of the EEG study were so conclusive as to the differences between "non dual meditators" and "controls" that it has been submitted for publication to the Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience by Dean Radin, Senior Scientist @ IONS, and his collaborators. Although i have a copy of the draft, i have been asked to not share it until the article is published.

This is important news for non-dual folk as it is solid research done at an excellent institution with a matched control group that will be published in a/the major cognitive neuroscience journal confirming that there is something "real/measurable" about the non-dual experience. Another "brick in the wall" for non-duality. Thanks IONS.
