Bhagavad Gita verses, "No Thought, No Time" 2011 SAND presentation - youTube videos

There are three new youTube videos just uploaded.

Gary Weber
The first, is "You Are Not in Control - Bhagavad Gita Verses - Gary Weber". The background is the sitting in stillness video "Stillness - Gary Weber". i chanted thirteen different verses from the Bhagavad Gita selected from Sri Ramana Maharshi's "The Song Celestial" which is Ramana's 42 verse selection from the Bhagavad Gita and Ramesh Balsekar's "Bhagavad Gita; Selections" which is Ramesh's 62 verse selection from the Gita.

The Chapter and Number of the verse is given along with the transliterated original Sanskrit of each verse, the word-by-word translation into English, and then a simple statement in English of what the verse says. These verses are the ones that i felt were most useful to give a summary of what the Bhagavad Gita says about your not being in control and what happens when you become absorbed in the Self.

These verses are selected from the 60 or so that i am putting into the upcoming book, probably titled "Dancing Beyond Thought: Bhagavad Gita for Awakening", or something like that. The book is in second draft form, so it will probably be out in a few months, if the Universe agrees.

The other two videos are of my presentation of "No Thoughts, No Time: The Experience, The New Science" from the Science and NonDuality Conference in San Rafael, CA in October, 2011. The talk was about:

"Recent cognitive neuroscience demonstrates that meditation can permanently reduce or eliminate the wandering mind. This wandering mind, called the default mode network, is the common situation in most folks' minds when they are not doing a task, and is a self-concerned, "I, me, my" focused, narrative. Most of our unhappiness, worry, concerns, and fears are generated and aggravated by the operation of this default mode network. Meditation can change that. It is also possible to lose the negative aspects of a sense of time."

The first video is about:

"Loss of thought, functioning w/o thought, the default mode network, published current research on cognitive neuroscience on meditation for one month, different "me-ing/selfing" networks.

The second video is about:

"Recent published research @ Yale on effect of 10,000 hr of meditation on permanently altering wandering mind/default mode network, and creating a watching/cognitive control network. Use of real time fMRI to focus on key selfing center to monitor meditation. Psychological studies on awakened/non-dual folk for psychological development and mysticism."
